Gold Marathon

The Marathon shares its inner dimensions with the Gold 3 and differs in unladen weight: 950 kg against 820. Those 130 kg correspond to factory-fitted reinforcement and equipment, and come off the payload, which stands at 1,650 kg. That remains ample for two medium horses with their gear. If you regularly carry two heavy animals, compare the two specifications first: the choice turns on those kilos.

Aluminium floor covered with 8 mm anti-slip rubber, like the rest of the Gold range. The interior measures 3.17 m long by 1.60 wide and 2.34 high, giving two 80 cm places with enough height for medium horses. The aluminium floor absorbs neither damp nor urine, so the unladen weight stays stable over the years instead of creeping up, as happens with a saturated wooden deck.

Like every 2,600 kg trailer, this one falls outside a category B licence in practice: it would take a 900 kg towing vehicle to stay under 3,500 kg for the combination. With a B96 licence the combination reaches 4,250 kg and takes a vehicle up to 1,650 kg gross; with B+E, up to 3,500 kg. It is also worth checking the towable mass your vehicle allows, shown in sections O.1 and O.2 of its registration document.

The 130 kg separating the Marathon's unladen weight from the Gold 3's correspond to items already fitted: equipment you will not need to add later. What each finish includes, together with the chest, ventilation and spare wheel options, is settled at order time with the manufacturer's lead time.
