Intended use
The 835 kg unladen weight is this model's argument: on a 2,400 kg gross weight it leaves 1,565 kg of payload, a hundred kilos more than the identically sized Champion C. That margin turns into peace of mind when loading two heavy horses with competition equipment. The 1.65 m width gives two 82 cm places.
Build
Full aluminium floor, with no added rubber covering: that is where the weight difference with the Champion C comes from. Bare aluminium is hosed clean and dries on its own, and hides no damp under a rubber layer. In exchange, it transmits outside cold and heat more than a covered floor, worth considering depending on your local climate.
Licence and towing vehicle
The 2,400 kg gross weight puts a category B licence out of reach except with a 1,100 kg vehicle. With B96 the combination reaches 4,250 kg and takes a vehicle up to 1,850 kg gross; with B+E, up to 3,500 kg of vehicle. Also check your car's braked towable mass, shown in section O.1 of its registration document.
Equipment
Central partition, full aluminium floor and 2.30 m inner height, as standard. If you prefer a battened rubber covering, the Champion C offers the same dimensions with that finish and a hundred kilos less payload. Chest, extra ventilation and spare wheel are settled at order time with the factory lead time.
